These breadsticks are easy to bake ahead of time and stash in the freezer, where they’re ready for you to reheat whenever an “I’m hungry!” emergency arises.

Makes 20 breadsticks

Ingredients
4 fully cooked frozen sausage patties
13.8-ounce tube refrigerated pizza dough
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garlic salt
Olive oil
Warm marinara sauce

Directions

1.  Place rack in upper third of oven and preheat oven to 375 F.

2.  Microwave sausage patties for one to two minutes, or until thawed. When they cool, blot with paper towels and crumble or chop finely.

3.  Unroll pizza dough onto lightly floured work surface. Cut dough in half crosswise.

4.  Separate halves slightly, then scatter sausage and cheese evenly over them. Sprinkle with garlic salt. Press topping firmly into dough to make it stick.

5.  Cut each piece of dough into 10 even strips. Pick up each strip, twist twice or three times and place, separated, on baking sheets. Brush strips lightly with olive oil.

6.  Bake for 14 to 18 minutes, or until golden. Serve warm, with small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.
